Weekends full of love

Going home for the weekend means seeing friends, having some drinks and re-living a lot of summer moments. But this weekend was a special weekend in more than one way.

Finding your soulmate, loving someone and feeling luckier than ever, is something we all struggle with sometimes. Of course this love can come in many forms. Hidden in a best friend, a lover or a family member. Some people don't believe in the state of true love, but I'm still one of those 'head over heels' in love girls who believes her fairy tale will come true at some point - let’s hope for rather sooner than later.

These last few days though, I’ve witnessed and experienced all kinds of love. Realizing you can get a second chance on love any time and that you can even have two loves at the same time, one being the mister lover and one being the best friend.
I’m a sucker for any form of Romance, which most of my close friends already know - cry at every even slightly romantic movie and leave waterfalls at weddings.

So this is one to love!

Bromances

Food-love

Girlfriend love

Sister love

True love

Talk through your tee

This is one for the boys! But maybe a bit for the girls as well – nice for us to look at.
I wanted to step out of my comfort zone and do something on men’s fashion. So, guys, full attention, please.

Spotted on the street and rated very wearable: the infill motif. It’s pretty simple actually: pimp your closet with a cool T-shirt with a logo or statement that has been filled with a picture or a graphic design. This is going to be a real trend next season, so don’t say I didn’t warn you. It is a style that can quite easily make a simple tee or sweatshirt look cool. So you don’t have to put up a lot of effort and time into thinking about an awesome outfit. I easily found a couple of items that are on this trend at Urban Outfitters, Topman and Asos, so no excuses there!

Be graphic or be square!

Flowers. For everyone.

There is just something about flowers, whether it’s roses, lilies, tulips or any other beautiful creature of nature. They come in like a zillion different colours, which makes it even harder to choose your favourite. And of course getting them from your boyfriend or best friend are the best way of receiving them. But every once and a while you have to treat yourself to some beauty all by yourself.

All things pretty are pink

Think cotton candy, rainbows and unicorns. This for the girly girls who know in their hearts that they will always have a love-relationship with the colour pink.

Although pink was never out of style, it is now back! And stronger then ever. Or it will be at least, next season. After one of my lectures on trends, I was advised to take a look at trend forecaster Li Edelkoort. She is a Dutch woman – how could she be anything else – who is like a guru when it comes to forecasting trends. And it just seems to be that she predicts a very bright future for my beloved pink colour. Yes, I dyed my hair pink and I would do it again anytime.

This new pink is not the girly Barbie pink though. It is a strong pink that stands for provocation and in your face-ness. Who could not looooove that! It is all about revolutionizing and being a rebel in pink.

Here are some things on my pink wish list:

Marc Jacobs

Notebook

This in London please :)

Find a pink sofa

Stella McCartney

La vie en rose

New talent on the rise

Yesterday I went to take a sneek peek at the pop-up store named College Shop. For those who are now thinking: why do I care? Well, you will soon find out.

The College Shop is a temporary store where you can find the work of recently graduated students from the London College of Fashion. You can find anything going from jewellery to coats. The prices are all fixed according to the material that has been used to fabricate these wonderful designs.

There were a lot of cool people attending the launch – maybe also because of the free drinks. It is definitely worth going there if you’re looking for a piece of a new, upcoming and trendy designer. ‘Cuz these peeps are the future, people! And if you go now, you can maybe call yourself the owner of a real collector’s item in a couple of years.
