Last week’s madness

It has been a while since I last talked to you, so hi there! It has been a crazy but great week. I came back from la bella Italia last Tuesday and Thursday morning I found myself in a plane to London town for a hectic house hunt. I can now say I have seen London the way it really is, when you’re not in the tourist zone. Although I some real bad addresses to live, I found a place to stay for 5 months while I will be studying there.

Of course it was not all work and no play in LDN. My dad and I did some extreme ’touristing’ whenever we had an hour of time – read run to St. Paul’s, the Millennium Bridge, the London Bridge, Trafalgar Square, Picadilly Circus, Regent Street etc. I can tell you, I was exhausted when I got back home! But o how I enjoyed every minute of it. I’m so super excited to move to London the 26th. The city is almost like a drug to me, I love the billions of people running around, the take-out food, the fastness.

I came back to Belgium Saturday evening and yesterday I had a cool get-together with my friends at home, to celebrate me leaving. J I can understand their happiness though – just kidding. It was a kind of all British tea party, resulting in getting French fries after all. Got some cool gifts also, more on that later. And no Daan, there will be no pictures of yours!

Bella Italia

Sometimes you just need a break from reality to put everything back into perspective. And that’s what Italy has done for me so far. It has been great out here, loving every second of it. In the last two days we visited Malcésine, a small city at Lake Garda and Verona, the city of Romeo and Juliet.

Both typical Italian cities with a lot of colourful houses, great sculptures, fresco’s and amazing churches. Feeling pretty cultural out here! So my camera is working overtime trying to shoot all this beauty. But pictures never seem to capture the entire experience of the whole thing. You have to see it with your own eyes!

I also managed to pick up some true Italian beauty products. They are all so good for your skin and have a really nice scent. *Wishing I could import a whole lot more!*

Take a look at my photo diary to have an idea of what dream I’m living in here!

Dolce far niente

I’m glad to say: Toto, we’re not in Kansas anymore! I’m staying in Italia for the moment, in Dimaro. Up ‘till now I’ve visited Trento and Bolzano, some typical Northern cities. The sun was on our side today so we had breakfast outside before taking a dive in the pool! The good life…

Now, when I think of Italy, I immediately crave some Kiko! If you don’t know this make-up store, shame on you! If you do, you’ll know how great – and cheap – it is. I managed to squeeze in some time for Kiko in alternation with some churches and other cultural activities – read sitting on a terrace and having some Spritz.

Signing out now with some pictures of our adventures here!

Crazy pants

This Friday I met up with a friend from Brussels, mainly to do some catching up – read updating her on my tales of the whole summer – but also to go to a stock sale of Beauty Queen in Ghent. So she hopped on my train to Ghent and after getting lost several times, we found our way to the Braempoortgallerij where we scored some nice beauty stuff. I bought a compact powder from Pop, some grooming cream from Bumble & Bumble, a nail lacquer from Ciaté – they were only 2,5€ so I’m already regretting not taking home more of them – and some body butter. Good times! After this we strolled around the city a bit and I have to say I was really surprised by the coolness of Ghent. A lot of fashionista’s and hipsters hanging out there!

My outfit of the day consisted out of the crazy print pants, a simple black blouse and my lovely pink allstars. Comfort above all!

Enjoy some snapshots of the day right here!

P.S.: I’m leaving for Italy today but I’ll try to squeeze in some blogging time there as well so you can see me loving Italia.
